This website, lauraladshouse.com, is the personal informational site of Laura Lads House, an independent media and communications practice based in Helsinki, Finland. This policy explains what limited personal data is involved when you visit the site or get in touch, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
01Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for this site is Laura Lads House, operating as an independent practice in Helsinki, Finland. If you have any question about this policy or how your information is handled, you can reach me directly at hello@lauraladshouse.com. You can also reach me by post at Mäntytie 9, 00270 Helsinki, Finland.
02What this site collects
This is a simple informational site. It has no user accounts, no login, no newsletter sign-up and no e-commerce. In practice, that means:
- Information you send me. If you email me using the address on this site, I receive your name, your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Basic server logs. Like most websites, the hosting provider may automatically record standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used only to keep the site running securely and is not used to identify you personally.
I do not ask for, and this site does not knowingly collect, any special categories of personal data (such as health, political or religious information).
03Cookies & analytics
This site does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies or third-party marketing pixels. It does not run behavioural analytics such as Google Analytics, and it does not build a profile of your browsing.
If a strictly necessary cookie is ever used to keep the site functioning, it will not track you across other websites and will not be used for advertising.
04How your information is used
Any personal data I receive is used only for limited, obvious purposes:
- To read and reply to an enquiry you have sent me;
- To discuss, scope and, where relevant, deliver a professional engagement;
- To keep basic records of correspondence for business and accounting purposes.
The legal bases for this processing are your consent when you choose to contact me, the legitimate interest of responding to enquiries about my work, and, where an engagement follows, the performance of a contract.
05Sharing & storage
I do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. Your information is not shared with third parties except where strictly necessary — for example, the email and hosting providers that operate the technical infrastructure behind my inbox and this site, or where I am required to disclose information by law.
Email correspondence is retained only for as long as it is useful for our working relationship or required for accounting and legal obligations, after which it is deleted.
06Your rights under the GDPR
As a data subject in the EU, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data of yours I hold, and request a copy of it;
- Ask me to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask me to delete your personal data where there is no ongoing reason to keep it;
- Object to, or ask me to restrict, certain processing;
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these rights, simply email me. I will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto) if you believe your data has been handled improperly.
07Changes to this policy
As my practice is small and this site is straightforward, changes to this policy should be rare. If it is updated, the revised version will always be the one posted here. Material changes will be clearly indicated.
Questions about your privacy are always welcome. Write to me at hello@lauraladshouse.com and I will be glad to help.
